Father of Taoism, Wu Wei (Non-Doing), and Anti-Political Recluse

Lao Tzu also rendered as Laozi (Chinese: 老子, commonly translated as "Old Master") was an ancient Chinese philosopher and writer. He is the reputed author of the Tao Te Ching, the founder of philosophical Taoism, and a deity in religious Taoism and traditional Chinese religions. Book 2, Chapter 75

People are starving.
The rich gobble taxes,
that’s why people are starving.

People rebel.
The rich oppress them,

People hold life cheap.
The rich make it too costly,
that’s why people hold it cheap.

But those who don’t live for the sake of living
are worth more than the wealth-seekers.[57]
