“That cult would never die till the stars came right again, and the secret priests would take great Cthulhu from His tomb to revive His subjects and resume His rule of earth. The time would be easy to know, for then mankind would have become as the Great Old Ones; free and wild and beyond good and evil, with laws and morals thrown aside and all men shouting and killing and reveling in joy. Then the liberated Old Ones would teach them new ways to shout and kill and revel and enjoy themselves, and all the earth would flame with a holocaust of ecstasy and freedom. Meanwhile the cult, by appropriate rites, must keep alive the memory of those ancient ways and shadow forth the prophecy of their return.” – H.P. Lovecraft, ... (From: TheAnarchistLibrary.org.)
“Throw away holiness and wisdom, and people will be a hundred times happier. Throw away morality and justice, and people will do the right thing. Throw away industry and profit, and there won’t be any thieves.” – Tao te Ching, Chapter 19 Across my career I have been something of a strange beast, few and far between quite knowing what to make of me: the gonzo-aficionados love my prose but are confused by offerings left at the crossroads and endless references to Stirner; the Anarchists and Insurrectionists love my theories but are perplexed by my trafficking in spirits and identification as a journalist; the Occult crowd adores my sorcerous inclinations yet seems puzzled by my near-addict level of political con... “Laugh, and the world laughs with you; weep, and you weep alone.” ― Ella Wheeler Wilcox “What denies you is an illusion… A curse put upon you by the heartless… You knew from the very beginning… And yet, you cowered in fear… Will you die as you are told…? Who will you obey…? Cursed words spat out by a seething illusion? Or the truth within your own soul? Contract… I am thou, thou art I… The forbidden wisdom has been revealed. No mysteries… No illusions shall deceive you any longer.” –Persona 5 It’s 5am as the darkness pervades, and with it the unwelcome chill of death. Ice is building up on palm fronds. Manatees have ... “The mass of ordinary Germans did know about the evolving terror of Hitler’s Holocaust, according to a new research study. They knew concentration camps were full of Jewish people who were stigmatized as sub-human and race-defilers. They knew that these, like other groups and minorities, were being killed out of hand. They knew that Adolf Hitler had repeatedly forecast the extermination of every Jew on German soil. They knew these details because they had read about them.” –-John Ezard “Tell me, Tarrou, are you capable of dying for love?’ ‘I couldn’t say, but I hardly think so–as I am now.’ ‘You see. But you’re capable of dying for an ... (From: TheAnarchistLibrary.org.)
“I do not weep at the world–I am too busy sharpening my oyster knife.” – Zora Neale Hurston “What is a rebel? A man who says no, but whose refusal does not imply a renunciation. He is also a man who says yes, from the moment he makes his first gesture of rebellion.” – Albert Camus, The Rebel “I go over my own escape routes all the time. To survive in this state, you have to think like the French Resistance.” ― Tim Dorsey, writing about Florida in The Stingray Shuffle Everybody pretends this is Florida in the 30’s, the 50’s, the 80’s. Nobody wants to stare into the ugly mess we’ve become or the horrible future that li... (From: TheAnarchistLibrary.org.)
Imagine for a moment you’re at a bar and there’s an immigrant in front of you. He’s quiet, but not antisocial, casually dressed but not sloppy. He seems just like anybody else except he isn’t. What you don’t know is he’s been working as an aviation programs engineer and even helped design fly-by-wire planes, in which manual controls are entirely replaced by computers. Smart guy, very talented, “high energy” as Il Duce might say; a success story from India and right out of American mythology. Now, behind him, a new sound; old, fearful, you hear a hellish cry: “GET OUT OF MY COUNTRY!” Who the fuck was that? There appears to be a bit of a scuffle in the back, some... “We are accustomed to classify States according to the different ways in which ‘the supreme might’ is distributed…Might against whom? Against the individual and his ‘self-will.’ The State practices ‘violence,’ the individual must not do so. The State’s behavior is violence, and it calls its violence ‘law’; that of the individual, ‘crime.'” — Max Stirner, The Ego and Its Own “Always and everywhere, bumping into laws, into boundaries, into morals, into conventions, into rules, into judges, into workshops, into prisons, into barracks, into men and women in uniform that protect, maintain, defend, an order of things that is mortifying and get... If there is one thing the South never lost it was its Cult of the Dead. They are everywhere, in almost every guise, for those with the eyes to see. Descendants of Confederate veterans place fresh flags of a nation that never was on battlefields long-lost; Baptists sing hymnals from faraway lands about ancient and powerful souls from the distant past; a mother walks under empty street lights to place fresh roses on roadside cross in memory to a boy taken by a mix of high speeds and even higher alcohol contents. There is an unspoken acknowledgment pervading the culture that dirt carries imprints of the actions and personalities of those that walked or died on them. Which is why Conjurers love dirt from a soldier’s g... (From: TheAnarchistLibrary.org.)
No one is coming to save you, Comrade. Nobody. There is no revolution on the horizon, there is no party, there is no grand idea that will finally awaken humanity to its potential and free us from our chains. There is no vanguard, no purpose, no secret method we can all use to magically make the powerful resign themselves to the fate of ordinary existence. There have been pretenders. There are priests and pimps and false gods that call on you to worship them. They will give you immortal “sciences” and identities, they will assure you if just enough people donned the uniform or spoke the right words everything would be okay. There are those of course who would deny you even that, who refuse any a... (From: TheAnarchistLibrary.org.)
Anarchists have a long and bloody road through human history, filled with broken barricades and squats with busted windows; we fought a war in the 30’s, struck fear into governments, and created invisible networks of accomplices across continents. But times have changed, and Anarchists are only now beginning to adapt to a battlefield full of orbiting satellites, fascists blending memes with occult techniques, and a presidential twitter that determines foreign policy. Take for instance the morning of October 2’nd, where the conservative media began spreading rumors that an “antifa chapter” was responsible for the largest mass shooting in American history.[1] As soon as the attack had been made, indeed before th... “My idea is that every specific body strives to become master over all space and to extend its force (–its will to power:) and to thrust back all that resists its extension. But it continually encounters similar efforts on the part of other bodies and ends by coming to an arrangement (‘union’) with those of them that are sufficiently related to it: thus they then conspire together for power. And the process goes on–” —Freidrich Nietzsche, The Will to Power “Si quieren que se los diga Yo soy un alma sin dueño A mí no me importa nada Pa’ mí la vida es un sueño” –Ramon Ayala, &ldqu... “So the patient advocates of ‘free states,’ ‘free speech,’ ‘free assemblage,’ what are they but deluded children in the vicinity of forces they do not comprehend? If they want to assemble and speak without let or hindrance, let them increase their own power, their strength of arm until they can speak and meet as they will. But to ask for free speech and free meeting, what is it but an acknowledgment of tutelage, inferiority…There is only one thing the down-trodden with retained dignity can do, and that is to Get Up.” --Dora Marsden, The Freewoman, Volume 1 Number 1, June 15th 1913 THE FOREIGN GODS of State and Capital have cast you into a world where their word is law. You ar... (From: TheAnarchistLibrary.org.)
The Egoist milieu is a strange and tangled beast, one sharply divided between some of the older readers of Stirner and the new batch of whipper-snappers. Heated debates rage across the internet(though I’d prefer to see them in the streets) about just what the hell Stirner was trying to get across in his masterpiece The Ego and His Own. The trenches seem to be dug on generational lines: older readers of Stirner, primarily Gen X, seem to believe Stirner is an Arch-Capitalist or Grand Villain who advocates unlimited competition is any way possible; younger readers see Stirner as an advocate of an Egoism that defies the laws, morals, and rules of the wealthy, inspiring the poor to begin working for their own interest. Of cou... (From: TheAnarchistLibrary.org.)
Editor’s Note: As fans of Dr. Bones on twitter and facebook might know our resident Conjurer was recently blown out of his mind on what Gods & Radicals can only assume to be highly illegal substances. This draft was sent to us with almost an hour and a half of audio, several hand drawn images, and a series of photographs in what we assume to be Dr. Bones…well, we aren’t exactly sure what’s going on but have serious doubts the alligator skulls were ethically sourced. Gods & Radicals in no way endorses buying high-powered hallucinogens off the Dark Web and patently refuses Bones’ calls to “send him $400 to help get some things going down here. If the rednecks get a taste of this stuff they’ll... (From: TheAnarchistLibrary.org.)
What the hell have I gotten myself into? Does this happen to other people? Synchronicities are everywhere, so much so that I’m beginning to feel paranoid. One essay, one little essay on a website I don’t even read has thrown me into the oblivion and practically ripped my head clean off my shoulders. For days it incubated within me, feeding on previously held constructs and thought-patterns only to burst out of my chest in a bloody and new take on mental health itself. I’m reading about Hell’s Angels, watching Pirates of the Caribbean, and struggling with a desire to load up my wife and cats in a camper and hit the open road. I’ve developed an extreme aversion to therapy programs even though I&rsqu... (From: TheAnarchistLibrary.org.)
I wonder how long I’ll be able to see the moon like this, every store and workshop closed by the fist of the goddess Irma. The night shift has been abolished and I’m playing outside with my friends simply because I can. I know it’ll end eventually, that the power will come back, so I’ve got to write down what it feels like. I have to remember what people are like after a hurricane, when the poor have nothing but each other to rely on. I have to remember how that girl almost got kidnapped and how big the blade was that saved her life. Have to remember before the commercials come back and I’m made to wonder how I lived without them. Have to remember…have to remember…. NIGHT OF Temperature ... (From: TheAnarchistLibrary.org.)
“Who does vote for these dishonest shitheads? Who among us can be happy and proud of having all this innocent blood on our hands? Who are these swine? These flag-sucking half-wits who get fleeced and fooled by stupid little rich kids like George Bush?” – Hunter S. Thompson “The kings of the mines, of the coalfields, and of gold would be wrong to worry. Their serfs’ resignation consecrates their authority. They no longer need to claim that their power is be based on divine right, that decorative joke: their sovereignty is legitimated by popular consent…. Teach the people! What else is needed?
